The problem a website titled: Pride My Way solves

While we have come a long way and the LGBTQIA+ community has gained more tolerance and acceptance in the world, it is irrefutable that we have a long way to go. To this day, a large proportion of the society is not open to the LGBTQ+ community forcing them to retreat to their shells and not live a free, happy, and carefree life. Many people have to refrain from embracing themselves and do not have anyone to talk to, freely.
To counter this problem, we aim to create a website that brings the LGBTQ+ community together, on a single platform, allowing them to interact with like-minded people who want to help each other and grow.
The basic idea is to create an online interaction website, where users can log in with anonymous IDs, state their interests by filling out a simple form, and get sorted with people having similar interests.

Challenges we ran into

As this was our first ever hackathon, and our first time creating a website, we ran into a lot of unforeseen problems.
The main issues we ran into were

  • integrating and creating the chat interface in the main server.
  • linking and integrating elements in HTML and beautifying the page.
  • we also found a lot of loopholes in our project.
with help from mentors and the internet, we were able to tackle most of these issues.
