Hello! I'm Zayaan, and I'm currently a partnerships associate at Waterloo Blockchain, which is an NGO that used to be a club under the University of Waterloo, in Ontario, Canada. That's what helped me find out about ETHDenver, and I'll be staying in their hacker house during the event.

I completed an internship at an NFT Marketplace Startup called Solitaire Token last year, where I:

  • Crafted an early stage digital platform development strategy
  • Rapidly acquired proficiency in Solidity and React.js to fulfill project needs
  • Engineered comprehensive Web3 backend framework to integrate with front end HTML5/CSS3
  • Created an ERC721 variant for digital assets and a marketplace contract for transactions and auctions
  • Selected Metamask for secure Fiat and Crypto transactions and integrated it into the website using Javascript
Tools leveraged: Solidity, Javascript, React, Node.js, Ethers.js, Hardhat, Metamask, Remix

My experience as far as hackathons is limited, since I grew up in Dubai, where the concept of a hackathon was not very well known. However, a plus of being in Dubai was that I have been in the loop with the blockchain space for a while, and it's become one of my most prominent productive passions. I love coding smart contracts, and investing in many different coins, but I'm looking to build my skills in the DeFi hackathon space, so that I have relevant experience when looking for jobs in Blockchain.

As a first year university student, I know that both my whole future is still ahead of me, as well as that as time passes the blockchain space is growing rapidly, and the sooner I gain fluency in the ecosystem the better.

Looking forward to attending ETHDenver, and I hope this hackathon will give me the best foot forward!
