Vishal Rishi MK Marimuthu

I am Vishal Rishi MK, a student at IIT MADRAS, currently pursuing B.Tech in Chemical engineering (2018-2022). Having completed five semesters, I have got an idea of what Chemical engineering is. I have understood that Chemical engineers play a pivotal role in almost all fields and can also potentially solve the problem of energy crisis and safeguard the environment. Hence, I have decided to develop a career in this vibrant discipline. Further, the art of making systems learn by themselves from past experiences fascinates me. Combining state-of-the-art technologies like Machine learning with Chemical engineering to solve real world problems is my forte. And I believe that entrepreneurship will provide me with the impetus. I strongly believe in Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam sir's vision that entrepreneurs and researchers are the people who can build a powerful country. The potential of market systems to eliminate impediments is not fully recognised. That's why I feel that the advent of CARBON MARKETS in some countries to limit the total carbon emissions below the threshold value is a very good move. Hence, my goal is to combine the prowess of Markets, Entrepreneurship, Chemical engineering and Machine learning and build a better ecosystem. In my pursuit to realise my dream, I am currently working on a project related to auxetic materials. This helps me to realise the power of research and empowers me to solve real world engineering problems. I am also a member of the marketing team of TECHTABLE, a startup that aspires to narrow down the gap between engineers and opportunities. Working with a startup is the best way to learn the nuances of starting up and TECHTABLE has certainly taught me a lot. I have improved the way I associate myself with my fellow colleagues and I have become more disciplined and focused than ever, thanks to TECHTABLE. Apart from this, I have done courses on Machine learning and Deep learning and I am good at it. Some of the applications of Deep learning that I am enthralled to work are Computer vision (Image and Semantic segmentation, Object detection), Natural Language Processing etc. Some of my achievements include the crown of ICSQCC 2009. My team stood first in the international event which is a good indicator of my communication skills.
