I have been developing high level tools using MakerDAO that allow a user to take a loan on the blockchain, to leverage eth or pay off the dai debt with just single command. I recently (2 days ago) quit my job to play with Ethereum blockchain full time and will have an easy UI for the tools coming up soon. https://github.com/shivgupt/makerkeeper.
I'm still ramping up on ipfs and hope to host a simplified dai dashboard for financial tools built on makerDAO on ipfs. For now I have simple ipfs blog for sharing videos. https://github.com/shivgupt/ipfs_gallery.
Makerkeeper is my first project using web3.js to build tools. MakerDAO was not easy to read contract code and had a hard time understanding it. Also, finding safe way to put my dev account keys and send transaction from server was tricky but was able to solve it with Docker secrets.
