I remember the first bug I came across when I started coding. It was the notorious 'missing semicolon' error. I remember spending more than 30 minutes trying to understand why I was getting an error, and I remember the relief on having found it. And this cycle continued, but the errors got more complex and the average debugging time decreased. I still have times where I spend 2-3 days on a single bug, but that has never deterred me. The pleasure of knowing that after fixing this error I would be one step closer to having built something all by myself, from scratch is unexplainable. It is my motivation.
I'm currently in my third year and studying Computer Engineering at one of the most esteemed institutes in my state. One of my favorite courses so far would have to be Data Structure and Algorithms. I was in awe of the data structures, they were so obvious and simple, but they broadened my horizon in solving so many problems! While studying sorting algorithms my brain wondered, is it possible to visualize these algorithms? And that was one of my mini-projects, Visualization of Sorting Algorithms. As another mini-project, I developed a College Portal in Flask, Python for teachers and students to communicate with each other smoothly.
I then decided to get some real-world exposure. I worked as an intern in a Bio-Engineering startup in Bengaluru. I performed exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis and helped develop algorithms to calculate a cardiac health score. This internship developed my interest in Data Science and I am currently exploring this field. I am also studying various optimizing algorithms in Artifical Intelligence and I'm in the process of visualizing those algorithms as well.
I also recently received an offer from Goldman Sachs to work as an intern in the summer of 2020.
