Omkar Kabd

I am Omkar Kabde, a passionate Computer Science student with a strong focus on AI and machine learning. I have developed a robust skill set through both academic pursuits and hands-on projects. My technical expertise includes programming languages such as Python, R, and C++, and proficiency in libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.

One of the projects I'm particularly proud of is the development of a subsetting tool for global ocean forecast data using Python libraries like Xarray, Zarr, and Dask during my time at Google Summer of Code. This project honed my skills in data processing and optimization, which are crucial for handling large datasets efficiently.

At Bhabha AI, I worked on implementing research papers related to prompt scoring and synthetic data generation, as well as improving data pipelines for Indic language datasets. This experience enriched my understanding of NLP challenges, especially in low-resource languages, and reinforced my commitment to using AI for social good.

I am driven by the desire to apply my technical skills to real-world problems and make a meaningful impact. My motivation stems from the potential of AI to transform various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and education. I am particularly excited about opportunities to innovate in language modeling and develop socially aware methods that can address issues like misinformation and mental health.

In addition to my technical abilities, I have developed strong problem-solving and project management skills through my internships and collaborative projects.I look forward to the opportunity to learn from and contribute to the community of like-minded innovators.
