I'm a third year CSE undergrad student at IIT Roorkee. I serve as a developer at SDSLabs, a campus group within IIT Roorkee of software developers. I am proficient in full-stack web application development, with good amount of experience with nodejs, PHP, MySQL and MongoDB. I've worked on some personal projects in python, made some small Android apps and dabbled a bit in HTML canvas game development. I'm an open-source enthusiast and recently completed my Google Summer of Code 2018 Intern under the Rocket.Chat organization. I've also interned at Elanic, Bangalore as a full-stack developer during the summers. My work there also included some devops related stuff. I'm fairly comfortable with using Linux systems and bash scripting. Occassionally, I browse through HackerNews for some nice blogs on things I'm interested in. Recently, I've developed an interest in core computer science, and have been reading up about operating systems. The most complex project that I've worked on was maybe the one I did during GSoC, mainly because there wasn't much online help that I could find so I had to adopt a hit-and-trial approach many times until things worked. My biggest takeway, besides knowledge of Meteor which I was completely unfamiliar with earlier, was debugging skills, and a belief that things get sorted out if one just keeps on trying and searching for stuff. In my second year, my team of 3(which is the same one applying here) participated in Microsoft code.fun.do and qualified amongst the top 3 teams in the online qualifiers for the onsite round. We then went on to finish runners-up in the onsite round, and were invited as the team to represent IIT Roorkee at Microsoft campus, Hyderabad for Academia Accelerator Showcase 2018, which was an awesome experience.
