Hello!
My name is Ivan and I am a master's student at TUM in electrical and information engineering, specializing in information theory, coding/cryptography, and distributed computing.
The reason why I chose to dedicate my degree to these domains, is because I am very interested in abstract, difficult problems which require abstract mathematics and require ethereal tools necessary to solve them. Lots of modern complex systems and the problems which arise within them require developing pure ideas such as algorithms and protocols rather than physical materials. I find such problems incredibly interesting due to the great amount of intellectual exercise required to solve them. This is why I dedicated much of my university career to studying information theory and its applications.
I began my master's degree studying AI and wireless communications, and found that many of these skills are transferrable to distributed systems, and the problems which arise in such scenarios. After finishing my research internship at Qualcomm, where I worked on deriving new ML techniques and frameworks for distributed computing, I began moving more into cryptography and its applications in distributed systems. I recently began working in blockchain R&D at StableLab, the biggest provider for decentralized solutions and delegacies in DAOs, where I have been developing smart contracts and protocols for AI-based voter representation. I have since also been starting a new research initiative at my university focusing on the intersection in protocols between cryptography and ML systems.
ZKPs are an incredible development which is not only intellectually interesting, but also practically relevant to many of today's problems. I find ZK Hack as the perfect opportunity to merge my study of zero knowledge cryptography with practical problem solving of real problems in the decentralized systems space. I hope you consider my application and would love the opportunity to participate in this year's event!
Thank you very much for taking the time.
