Networking

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Hi, I'm Huang Jinyang 👋

I'm a Computer Science student at Asia Pacific University (APU) with a strong interest in software development, networking, Linux systems, and cybersecurity.

I enjoy understanding how systems work from both the software and infrastructure sides — whether that means writing code, configuring a server, designing a wireless network, or figuring out how to make a system more secure and reliable.

🛠 What I'm Good At

  • Programming: Java, Python, C, C++, R, SQL
  • Linux & Systems: Red Hat, Ubuntu, server configuration and administration
  • Networking: Network design, Wi-Fi planning, Cisco Packet Tracer, Ekahau AI Pro
  • Automation & Data: Using Python and SQL for data extraction, cleaning, and processing
  • Teamwork & Leadership: Leading small development teams and turning project requirements into working solutions

🚀 Projects I've Built

Airport Control Tower Simulation

Built a real-time airport scheduling simulation in Java using multithreading and object-oriented programming. The system coordinates aircraft queues and shared airport resources while handling concurrent operations safely.

Secure Linux Mail Server

Deployed a mail server on Ubuntu using Postfix and Dovecot, with SMTP/IMAP support, SSL/TLS encryption, and firewall configuration to improve security and prevent unauthorized access.

SME Wireless Network Design

Used Ekahau AI Pro to conduct predictive Wi-Fi site surveys and design a Wi-Fi 6 network for an SME environment. I optimized access-point placement and RF coverage to minimize dead zones and provide reliable connectivity.

ASP.NET English Learning System

Led a 3-person team in developing a web-based English learning platform using ASP.NET. This project gave me practical experience in both software development and team coordination.

💡 What Drives Me

I like solving problems that sit between software and real-world systems.

I'm especially interested in projects where performance, networking, security, and software engineering come together. I enjoy experimenting with new technologies, understanding why something works — or doesn't — and turning that knowledge into something practical.

I'm constantly learning, building, and looking for opportunities to work on problems that challenge me technically.

🌱 Currently

I'm completing my BSc in Computer Science at Asia Pacific University, with an expected graduation in 2027.

I also hold a Red Hat System Administration certificate and participated in the Great Malaysia AI Hackathon 2025 (AWS).

🔗 Find Me

I'm always interested in learning something new, building useful things, and connecting with people working on interesting technical problems.
