Dtravel is a community-owned ecosystem on a mission to create a rewarding travel experience for everyone through direct connections and on-chain products that empower ownership.

The Dtravel ecosystem includes Dtravel Direct, Dtravel Meridian, and the Dtravel Protocol, all of which work together to solve problems in travel related to trust, reputation, distribution, connectivity and direct bookings.

Core to the Dtravel ecosystem, Dtravel Direct is accelerating the global adoption of direct bookings by making it easy for vacation rental operators to reduce their dependence on intermediaries and build their own brand through a modern booking site powered by smart contract technology. With its blockchain-native infrastructure, Dtravel Direct empowers operators with ownership while supporting a new way for travelers to search, discover, and book vacation rentals in a peer-to-peer manner through partnerships with platforms, exchanges and wallets.

Ecosystem enablers include Dtravel Meridian, a composable NFT travel profile that empowers anyone with ownership over their travel history, reputation and data. By collecting proof-of-travel stamps for every completed trip, travelers can monetize their experiences and establish their on-chain reputation in an encrypted and trustless system. Finally, the Dtravel Protocol provides a single source of truth for data across the industry, removing the need for costly API builds, maintenance and data calls. The Dtravel Protocol improves connectivity and distribution, not only for vacation rental operators, but for all industry service providers.

To actualize our vision of becoming a fully decentralized, community-owned and operated travel ecosystem, Dtravel’s core contributors have committed to developing a sustainable Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) structure. By initially testing and evolving DAO operations internally, Dtravel will be better equipped to empower the community with the ability to create proposals and subDAOs, eventually establishing a self-governing ecosystem completely operated by community members.
