Indian Institute of Technology,
If you've ever needed a government certificate an income certificate, a caste certificate, a domicile proof you already know the pain. You show up at the office. You're told to come back tomorrow. You come back tomorrow and you're told to come back next week. The officer who handles your case is "not available." You wonder if things would move faster with a little extra consideration. Nobody tells you where your application is. Nobody tells you why it was rejected. You have no receipt, no proof, no recourse. This is the lived reality for hundreds of millions of people across India and the world. Government certificate workflows are: Opaque: you submit and pray. There's no way to track what's happening. Corrupt: fees are collected in cash, no receipts, no accountability. Officers can delay indefinitely or demand bribes. Inefficient: everything is paper-based, manual, and siloed. Lost files, re-submission, endless waiting. Unverifiable: once you have a certificate, anyone wanting to verify it has to call the office or trust a photocopy. Forgery is rampant. Our Solution: Sarkar ONCHAIN Sarkar ONCHAIN moves the entire certificate workflow onto the blockchain — making it transparent, tamper-proof, and corruption-resistant by design. How It Works There are three actors in the system: The Citizen You go to /apply, choose your certificate type (Income, Caste, Domicile, Birth, Death, Marriage), upload your supporting documents, and submit. Your documents are end-to-end encrypted via Fileverse before anything touches the blockchain so your private data is protected. When you submit, a small ETH fee gets locked in a smart contract escrow. Not sent to anyone. Locked. You can track everything on your dashboard in real time. The Officer Government officers register on the platform and wait for admin approval. Once approved, they see a queue of applications assigned to them. They review the encrypted documents, and either: Approve: issue the certificate on-chain. The escrow is automatically released to their wallet as payment. Reject: provide a written reason on-chain. The escrow is automatically refunded to the citizen. The key insight: an officer only gets paid when they actually do their job. There's no room to collect a fee and sit on the application. The Admin The main admin controls who gets to be an officer. New officer registrations are reviewed and either approved or revoked. This is the governance layer that ensures only legitimate officials are in the system.
