To start with, I am Asifa and I’m someone who enjoys building things that actually solve problems or make life a little easier. On my GitHub you will find projects like a stock prediction app that uses real time data from yfinance, a sign language translator that turns gestures into audio using TensorFlow, and a numerology prediction web app built with the MERN stack. I have also worked on an AI powered healthcare tool that detects drug interactions, and a search system that finds the most relevant database tables using sentence embeddings and FAISS.
Tech wise, I am comfortable with Python, Java, C, and JavaScript, and I have explored Golang and Rust just out of curiosity.I've worked with NLP techniques and large language models, experimenting with algorithms like Multi-Armed Bandits to optimize decision-making processes and enhance the performance of AI systems like Marketing Agents. I have also worked with frameworks and libraries like React, Express, Flutter, FastAPI, Flask, TensorFlow, and H2O, and used tools like MongoDB, Tableau, Postman, and more recently Gradio, which I have been reading about for building quick AI demos.
Outside of tech, I really enjoy MUNs and debates. They are a fun way to make use of the bits of geopolitical knowledge I have picked up and honestly they give me a good mental workout. I also love reading, whether it is fiction, non fiction, or anything that piques my interest. I am especially fascinated by anthropological stories and cultures, although I usually avoid watching them on screen because they creep me out more than books do.
What drives me is not just curiosity but the need to figure things out and turn ideas into something real. I enjoy the point in a project where things start to click, not just in the code but in how the whole thing fits together. I am often drawn to problems that make me uncomfortable. I will complain and make a fuss while working through them, but I know those are the ones that teach me the most and help me grow.
