Ashwin Hebbar

Hey! My name is Ashwin Hebbar. I'm currently pursuing my final year BSc (Triple Majors: Maths, Statistics and Computer Science) at Kristu Jayanti College Bangalore.

I am a logician and a data scientist (or so I'd like to call myself :P), I try to bring out meaning and inference through data. What drives me is the potential to make a world a better place by utilizing the data we all (already) produce on a daily basis.

Projects:
1. Quantified Self
I've built an application called "Quantified Self" as part of an academic project, this took me a week to complete, and aims to bring about a way to keep track of various aspects of our life in a structured way (exercise, daily spending, social interaction, etc.). All this data is then visualized as graphs for ease of analysis. This site is built using a Flask Backend with jinja Templating and bootstrap for the frontend UI.

2. IITM-BS Film Society - New Wave Journal
I also maintain a blog/journal site with a bunch of my friends from across India, this is part of the Film Society @ IIT Madras, BS Data Science program, that brings out the filmy nerd in everybody. This site is developed in Hugo (Golang) and is built to scale, it is completely static while also being totally manageable in the backend, the blog posts are fed into the system as a Markdown file and every thing else is handled by the system to make it into a beautiful blog post. Any and every list in the site has a Google Sheets backend for ease of use and access for people who are not well versed with handling databases. The entire site is developed and maintained by me.
