I am currently a final year undergraduate studying Computer Science Engineering from India. I am also an aspiring Software Engineer and have always believed that my experiences at this stage will greatly shape the kind of software engineer I become. My passion for computer science stems from its vast potential to solve real-life problems, and I really want to make sure that I am generating an impact through everything I do. Through my previous internship experiences, I have learned that - there is no better way to learn than by hands-on practice; what I could accomplish in a few months under the guidance of an experienced mentor and in a team, I could hardly hope to achieve all by myself.
I interned at Microsoft this summer and was a part of the first-ever batch of virtual Microsoft interns. Apart from the technical skills I gained, I learned a lot about collaborating virtually, effective communication, code quality, and grasping new technologies quickly as well as effectively.
I am also an active open-source contributor, recently participated in the Linux Foundation Mentorship Program where I contributed to an IBM project - Open Horizon - for 3 months under the guidance of the Chief Architect of the project. I got the opportunity to improve my software engineering skills and learned about Edge Computing and NoSQL databases.
I’m a strong advocate of women in technology and an active member of local chapters of communities including - Women Who Code, Women in Data Science and Machine Learning, Women Techmakers, Facebook Developers’ Circle, and Systers.
