馃懁 About Me
I'm Gupta Abhijit Rajesh, a second-year B.Tech student in Civil Engineering at NIT Jalandhar , with a growing footprint at the intersection of infrastructure,
software, and AI.
My journey started with civil engineering fundamentals structures, mechanics,
materials but I quickly realized the field's most interesting problems live at
the boundary between physical systems and computation. That realization has shaped
everything since.
馃Л Where I Started
Early on, I built a Smart Screenshot Manager a desktop tool with a
system-tray frontend, OCR-based text extraction, and automated categorization.
It was my first serious dive into building something end-to-end: a real product,
not just a homework script. That project taught me how to close the gap between
an idea and a working system.
馃敤 What I'm Building Now
My flagship project is UrbanFabric a city-to-CAD SaaS that converts
OpenStreetMap data into layered DXF files for architectural and urban planning
workflows. The stack runs on FastAPI, Celery, and Redis, with a custom GIS tile
pipeline on OpenFreeMap and Cloudflare R2. The frontend carries a neo-brutalist
design identity I'm pretty proud of.
Alongside that, I'm exploring an AI-powered CAD generation pipeline using
CadQuery, trimesh, Three.js, and LLM APIs with the Pointer-CAD research paper
as academic grounding. It's equal parts research project and engineering challenge.
On the research side, I'm an active intern on an AI SmartWearable project at
NIT Jalandhar, and I've also had the opportunity to do research internships at IIT Mandi under professors working at the crossroads of civil engineering and computational technologies focusing on infrastructure monitoring, predictive maintenance, and early-warning systems.
馃搱 The Arc
The pattern across everything I build: civil problems, software solutions, AI
at the core. I'm not a civil engineer who dabbles in code, or a developer who
happens to study civil I'm genuinely trying to build at the overlap, where
geospatial data meets CAD pipelines, and where structural analysis meets machine learning.
I'm two years into a four-year degree, and already shipping production systems.
The trajectory feels right.
