I’m Tanay Agarwal, a Computer Science student with a CGPA of 9.51. Throughout my college journey, I’ve actively pushed myself to grow by taking on new challenges and stepping out of my comfort zone.
I strongly believe in the motto of solving real-world problems and contributing the world for the better
With this aim, I joined the Rotaract Club at TCET, which is part of Rotary International's youth program, I became the Professional Development Director, where I organized the most events among all avenues, earning the Best Director Award. I was also ranked among the top 10 Professional Directors in Rotaract District 3141, out of over 150 clubs. One of my proudest achievements was organizing the Y20 Summit, which was recognized as the best event of the quarter in Rotaract District 3141.
In my second year, I was also a proud NSS-National service scheme volunteer. In my third year, I got the opportunity to be an NSS Council member and lead the team. I led a group of 200 volunteers, managing over 90 social projects. These experiences helped me improve my soft skills, especially in leadership, decision-making, and teamwork. Over three years, I have led, managed, and volunteered in over 236 events and projects, always striving to excel in every responsibility I take on. One of the most impactful contributions I made was hosting a responsive TCET NSS Website with the help of my team, which gave me valuable technical experience.
I believe in balancing academics, technical skills, and extracurricular activities. I’ve not only managed to excel in all these areas but have also developed a strong foundation in problem-solving and innovation
Alongside my leadership roles, I’ve also written a research paper on Space-Based Solar Power and participated in several ideathons and hackathons. My team and I made it to the top 20 in the IEEE Ideathon out of 400 teams nation wide, and I also won an inter-department ideathon organized by the CSI Professional Committee. Additionally, I was a finalist in the Mastek Deep Blue Hackathon.
To enhance my skills, I’ve worked on creating replicas of platforms like qoura and Zerodha. Additionally, I’ve focused on projects that address real-life problems I’ve encountered, such as Briefify and an E-Diagnostic System. These projects have given me practical experience in developing user-centric solutions and refining my technical abilities.
I’ve explored various languages, but I’m currently focusing on Java and SQL. I completed a data engineering internship at Bharti AXA Life Insurance, where I gained hands-on experience with real-world data. I’ve also done part-time internships with Youth India Foundation and Friends to Support NGOs.
