Hi, I'm Sounak 👋

Building things slowly.
Breaking them carefully.
Understanding them deeply.

🧠 About Me

I'm a Computer Science student who prefers understanding systems rather than using them blindly.

I don’t just write code — I try to understand what’s happening underneath it.

From C programming and memory management to building encrypted CLI tools like safeCLI, I enjoy projects that force me to think about:

  • Design decisions
  • Trade-offs
  • Security implications
  • Real-world usability

I believe:

If I can’t explain how it works, I don’t truly understand it.

🔐 Highlight Project

🔐 safeCLI

An offline-first encrypted password manager built with intention.

Why I built it:

  • I wanted full control over my secrets
  • No cloud dependency
  • No hidden abstraction

What it demonstrates:

  • Master password authentication
  • On-disk encryption
  • Modular architecture
  • Defensive error handling
  • Proper Git versioning & release discipline

🛠️ Technologies I Use

Languages

  • C (pointers, structs, file handling, linked lists)
  • Python (CLI tools, modular design, encryption workflows)

Tools

  • Git & GitHub
  • Linux basics
  • Command-line environments

📚 Currently Exploring

  • Deeper system design principles
  • Security fundamentals
  • Advanced data structures
  • Writing cleaner and more intentional code

🧭 My Philosophy

I’m not trying to chase trends.

I want to build things that:

  • Work reliably
  • Make sense internally
  • Are understandable six months later

Slow learning > Shallow speed.

🚀 Long-Term Direction

  • Systems-level programming
  • Security-focused tools
  • Thoughtful software engineering

Not flashy.
Just solid.

📌 Final Note

I’m not trying to look impressive.

I’m trying to become competent.

And I’m documenting that journey here.
