1. Limited Communication for Non-Verbal Patients: Patients who struggle with verbal communication often face challenges in expressing basic needs like food, water, or assistance, creating frustration and dependency. 2. Lack of Independence in Controlling Environment: Many patients, especially those with mobility issues, are unable to control room appliances independently, leading to a reliance on caregivers for simple tasks. 3. High Caregiver Workload: Caregivers face the added burden of interpreting patients' needs frequently, which can be demanding and time-consuming. 4. Accessibility Barriers in Healthcare: Patients with physical limitations may find it difficult to interact with their environment, reducing their autonomy and affecting their well-being. 5. Limited Personalization in Care: Traditional care solutions often lack customization, making it hard for patients with unique needs to communicate effectively. Key features of the Saarthi 1. Assistance Request System: Allows patients to signal specific needs, like water or food, using simple hand gestures or touch inputs. 2. Home Appliance Control: Empowers users to control room appliances easily with hand movements, adding independence and convenience. 3. Caregiver Notifications: Instantly updates caregivers on patient needs, ensuring timely response without constant monitoring. 4. Seamless Connectivity: Utilizes Firebase for real-time data updates, allowing smooth and reliable communication between patient and caregiver. Future Implementations 1. Fall Detection: Implement sensors to detect sudden falls and immediately notify caregivers for prompt assistance. 2. Vitals Monitoring: Incorporate sensors for heart rate, oxygen levels, and temperature to track the patientβs health status and send alerts if irregularities are detected.
