Electronics and computers have always been an important part of my life. Many a sleepless night has been spent debugging both hardware circuits as well as code.
As a part of a formula racing car team in college, I was able to align my passion for electronics and computers with another interest, cars, to help build the team's first data acquisition system which not only stored data from an array of sensors but also graphically displayed values like speed and engine RPM on a screen, in real time.
My ability to grasp new concepts and ideas quickly is what, I believe, sets me apart from most people. The first makeathon I participated in was during my first year of college. I entered the hall knowing how to make an LED blink using an Arduino board but when I left I was comfortable with setting up a raspberry pi, setting up a communication system between the pi and the Arduino board, learnt about the various capabilities and limitations of the Arduino board by interfacing multiple sensors to the same board and so much more.
I am also passionate about teaching and was one of the three trainers at a machine learning workshop, conduced in college, where we taught around 30 students the basics of machine learning.
The rate at which technology is evolving requires one to be able to adapt and pick up new things quickly. The sheer processing power a small device like a mobile phone or laptop has today makes me want to build something and utilise these resources and that's what drives me.
The ideas and breakthroughs that happen at 3-4 AM during hackathons and the rush I feel towards the end when things start to fall into place are feelings that can not be matched be matched.
I believe I should be accepted simply because of my passion, desire to learn and build and because I have some good ideas!
