I'm Edwin Mek Kapesa, a passionate tech entrepreneur, game developer, and founder of Chroma Pixel Games — one of Africa’s fastest-growing game studios. Since stepping into the industry, I’ve dedicated my work to creating games that not only entertain but also celebrate African narratives and culture.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to major industry articles, including "A Visitor's Guide to the African Game Development Industry" on 80 Level, where I shared insights and research on the growing African gaming landscape. My work and impact have earned recognition across different platforms — I’m an award-winning developer, a nominee for 2024 Best Innovator of the Year, and winner of competitions like the ICTAZ Innovation Awards 2021 and the MTN MoMo Hackathon 2021.
One of my proudest achievements has been leading the IMPANGA project, which recently won under the Digital Lab Africa (DLA) 7 program. Along the way, I've built and released successful games, expanded my studio's services into education and animation, and formed key partnerships with global brands like Xbox, PlayStation, Xsolla, and Cartoon Network.
Today, I’m not only focused on traditional game development but also exploring the future of gaming in blockchain technology, looking at how decentralization and new economies can empower African creators even more.
