I served as the Chief Technology Officer and Engineering Lead for Pepo Campaigns, guiding the transition of the platform from internal tools to and external customer-facing service.

I was the brain and chief architect behind the ideation of using Amazon SES infrastructure to replace SailThru in 2014 with an in-house email platform for Fab/Hem. It started as a hackathon project and then based on the results of the hackathon, I successfully convinced the management to replace Sailthru with an internally built completely independent email platform.

I came up with a plan to replace Sailthru incrementally and safely without affecting the existing Hem business operations during the process. The entire transition from SailThru to the homegrown platform took 9 months: Beginning in Q3 2014, I worked three months continuously to release the first phase of the project and in the following six months (in Q2 2015) Sailthru was entirely replaced. Development of the platform continued under my leadership in 2015; by the end of 2015 the in-house email platform was beginning already to be enriched with new custom functionalities.

I was guideing the overall engineering aspects of Pepo Campaigns. I was leading the team in Pune and the timeline of the projects while running major projects himself and supporting the others with the daily challenges. He is hands-on, starting from requirement analysis, roadmap planning, architecture system designs, optimizing and scaling system to UX reviews.

On top of his wide knowledge and spread expertise, I instills in the team the rhythm and the project cycles that allow Pepo Campaigns technology to keep growing at high speed.

Roles included hiring, collaborate with product management to evolve product requirements, validating and translating them into milestones and deliverables.
Lead efforts in building in-house email platform which cut emailer costs by 20 times. Won best hackathon project by demonstrating a POC using AWS - SES, SNS, SQS - services. Role included working with management team in requirement analysis, architecture design, development, scaling, performance optimization, code reviews.
Within the Consumer Team worked as lead developer in building browse and product pages, fragment caching and query optimizations. End to end system design, development, deployment of consumer projects. Requirement analysis and website optimization to deliver a product of the best quality.

With the launch of the European e-commerce, Fab purchased German flash sales website Casacanda. The work involved migrating technology to Fab's social commerce platform in Ruby on Rails, including data migration, multi-language and multiple currency support enabling Fab to target 25+ countries.
Leading developer for building CMS tools used by merchandising team to create and maintain sales and products. Created tools to manage emails that are sent to targeted customers. Roles included following complete SDLC cycle in agile development environment with a fast growing startup. Selected as Best CMS team member in 2014.
Automated creation of invisible sales, inventory movement which saved lot of time and money for merchandising team.
