I. Yosun Chang is an indie developer who funds (and sometimes tests) her mad science and artistry experiments by winning hackathons (and sometimes client projects). Notably: she created the TechCrunch Disrupt Hackathon Grand Prize 2016 and 2018 winning apps that showed a vision of the future of augmented reality e-commerce, and also had another of her one-woman indie apps that turns what kids write on real paper into 3D animated AR scenes, live demo onstage and win SIGGRAPH Real-Time Live Audience Choice in 2020.

In her dark past, she was an underaged casualty of the first .com bubble burst, which sent her on a 4 year sojourn away from tech, triple majoring in Physics, Philosophy, and Bioengineering (pre-med) from 2002-2006. It was too much arcane yet beautiful math and anxious bureaucracy for her, so she left and in 2008, spent 4 years as an avatar and director of the Second Life Shakespeare Company (renamed Metaverse Shakespeare). Since 2011, she has been presenting time-limited demos of software inventions made by her one-person open research lab in hackathons such as this one.
