I worked on on-demand booking a stylist(works somewhat like uber) algorithm, where user can book a stylist to get their eyelash at home, the hard thing was to stop booking same stylist at same time by 2 different person.
I solved it by using the redis server, where if one user selects the time that particular stylist time was blocked in redis(order was created in stripe at that moment), now when before going to payment i would use same time block api and search so the selected time(if some booked that time slot then the that block wont appear) if its still available then i would go for the payment else system would redirect the user to select the new time.
