I love solving problems. I am constantly amazed by how technology can and has solved problems, expedited our processes and made everything available to us on our fingertips. This is what keeps me hooked. Apart from that , I appreciate how software skills are a great enabler in today's job markets. Knowledge about a one small tool can give someone an edge. That keeps me motivated to always learn - and I also enjoy educating.
One of the most complex projects that I have worked on was the Trading Systems project which I did as a part of a week long hackathon at Morgan Stanley. The Trading System accepted orders from external clients, validated those orders against some set criteria, found the best exchanges to place the trade in order to get the best value for money for the clients and kept track of the orders. We also had an additional challenge of finding arbitrage opportunities in the market. It was a good programming ecercise and extremely challenging due to the time limitation.
