About Me

I'm Jayakrishnan P A. I'm from Kerala, India. I love cycling, programming with microcontrollers and doing weekend projects.

Experience

During my high school days, I had the opportunity to work with my older brother (who was in the formula-hybrid team) to develop a controller (using Arduino nano) that acted as a software protection circuit. It was designed to disable throttle until the capacitor was fully charged, monitor battery temp, battery SOC and disable the vehicle if an fault had been detected by the BMS.

During freshman year, I got the opportunity to intern as a backend developer at Traboda Cyberlabs. I had worked there for 5 months. During that time i got involved with backend development with Django and Docker I was tasked with the development of new APIs, testing for bugs and documentation.

I have tried out flutter development and is able to develop applications integrated with Firebase.

I also have basic beginner level experience in networking. I have setup VPN servers, subnetted my home network.

Stuffs I have tried out which didn't work

After I left Traboda Cyberlabs, I wanted to explore other fields.

  • I got into security research, mainly finding vulnerabilities and exploits in Zigbee protocol. But it was way less developing&testing and more reading long research papers which I did not find interesting.
  • At one point I had tried to start my own startup which was a bicycle tracking app like Strava but with a more gamified approach. But after interviewing the target audience (mainly my friends & colleagues). I figured that there were not enough need for such a product.

What I'm doing right now

I'm currently learning golang and doing a project at the same time. It is small CLI based game which involves connecting with other players using websocket connection.

I'm also currently working on a college department project which is to automate course allocation procedure. This is being implemented in django.
