I truly and sincerely believe that in the current era if there is an element which has a solution for every other aspect of life, it is TECHNOLOGY. I have a knack for solving problems in various domains using tech. My hackathon projects are mainly based around IoT. Worked on various projects ranging from Smart Water to the railway industry to solutions for Airport baggage tracking.
The most complex project I've worked on is for the Railway Ministry during Smart India Hackathon 2017, wherein we had to devise a solution for unmanned railway crossings. Our solution had to be mission-critical as under no circumstance could it fail as failure directly meant the loss of life. We had to go on-site, do research, talk to different personalities involved with railways. The one thing that became clear to me is that you can only solve a solution for a sector if you are personally involved in that field. The ground reality is very different from what is perceived and this for me is the most important lesson I've learned while doing this project.
My achievements in hackathons and tech competitions are as follows - Participated in many hackathons, Grand finalist in Smart India Hackathon 2017 - project featured in TOI and TV9, one out of 600 teams selected from 5k teams in Smart India Hackathon 2018 Hardware Edition, First place Srishti 2017- State-level project exhibition.
To me hackathons are more than competitions, it is a crash course for intensive learning. We learn more practical implementations in a hackathon then what we learn in college throughout a semester. The thrill combined with the learning and network of people makes it a heaven for any tech enthusiast. With my past experience in hackathons and my zeal, I truly believe that I can learn as well as increase the competing excitement of the Hackathon.
