I'm Hrithik, a 4th-year student at Vellore Institute of Technology majoring in Computer Science. My first stint with programming was 4 years ago when I had to study C++ as a part of my school curriculum. This introduced me to the level of problems that can be solved using code. Entering college, I was introduced to different languages and the different domains they would help build upon. I was instantly interested in web development which would entice me enough to learn and implement full-stack websites.

By my second year, I was introduced to machine learning. I used my previous skills in web development and used it with ML to build complete end-to-end solutions to problems. These combined skills have helped me win hackathons.

For my NLP course, I developed a fake news detector which ultimately was a web scraper, text processor, prediction algorithm and an API all part of a single program, teaching me the best way to implement research and devise ML algorithms. This project got me an offer to work on a research project and has been a very common topic for discussion during my internship interviews.

A student studying computer science would want to make amazing projects, meet other amazing developers, and get a chance to interact with people from some of the best tech companies. Hackathons are the culmination of all these sets. And that is why I'm always eager to attend hacks.

I like exploring new things and am always eager to learn something new to work on tasks. I worked with React in production during my internship at JPMorgan Chase and am currently using React, WebRTC, and Go to work at a video conferencing startup.
