Reasons for Wanting to Become a Blockchain Developer
I am a person driven by curiosity and persistence, constantly drawn to exploration. Exploration is about seeking truth, which is unchanging and open to everyone. I view blockchain as a technology that guarantees integrity and transparency, essentially a ledger that records the truth. Therefore, I want to create useful services with blockchain to contribute to society.
Strengths and Experience
As an object-oriented individual who understands the essence of complex phenomena and abstracts them, I possess excellent learning and language skills. This allowed me to learn NestJS, which I was not taught in any academy, through self-directed learning, utilizing lectures on Udemy and more.
I also have an exceptional ability to educate, helping team members understand technical concepts by materializing abstract ideas I've learned. During project periods, I conducted R&D on official documentation of Socket.io, Masca, Veramo, etc., shared them in an easily understandable way with team members.
Designing the architecture myself to implement the service, I also have experience in directly contacting library developers to solve issues that arose. I represented the services we implemented with flowcharts, created PowerPoint presentations, and acted as a team leader in many projects, including the project that I presented to the company called Authrium. Therefore, I am confident that I will be a valuable asset to any organization that requires learning and communication.
Reflection on ETH SEOUL 2024 Hackathon
Mental Resilience:
- Challenge: Faced with the daunting task of leading a team through three days of sleep deprivation and intense time pressure, the mental toll was significant.
- Response: As a team leader, I prioritized resource allocation and morale boosting, demonstrating unwavering commitment and resilience. Our perseverance paid off, exemplifying the strength of collective resolve in overcoming adversity.
Technical Insight:
- Analogy: The process of learning and understanding technology reminded me of JSON communication—breaking down abstract concepts into concrete analyses (akin to Parsing/Deserialization) and then synthesizing them into personalized, abstract concepts (similar to Stringification/Serialization).
- Growth: This hackathon was a profound journey of technical growth, teaching me the importance of deconstructing complexities and creatively reassembling them to forge new insights and solutions.
Business Perspective:
- Realization: I recognized that generating a valuable idea stems from a comprehensive evaluation of recognizing problems, defining them, and devising solutions. This process underscores that sound judgment in value creation precedes and drives revenue generation.
- Strategy: Emphasizing the synthesis of problem identification and innovative solution development, we focused on creating a business model that not only addresses current needs but also anticipates future opportunities.
Presentation Skills:
- Challenge: Beyond fluency in English, the crucial ability to present a tech-driven business model persuasively to a global audience of stakeholders was daunting.
- Learning: I learned the importance of integrating technical understanding with business acumen in presentations. Successfully conveying our vision and convincing stakeholders of our project's viability highlighted the significance of compelling storytelling and strategic communication.
