Calisto Mathias | Full Stack Developer | Low Level Enthusiast | C++ Developer
Hey there! 👋 I'm Calisto Mathias, a passionate Web2 developer eager to dive into the world of Web3. I'm skilled in the MERN and Next.js tech stacks and love working with UI component libraries. Beyond web development, I’m enthusiastic about low-level development, aiming to deepen my knowledge in this field. I also have a love for C++ and contributed as an open-source developer to the Haiku Project. 🚀
Technical Skillset ;)
Full Stack Web Development
My core technical strengths lie in developing efficient, user-centered web applications.
- Front End Development: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Typescript, Tailwind CSS, Major UI Component Libraries
- Back End Development: Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, Ruby on Rails
- Databases: MongoDB
C++ Development
C++ remains my favorite programming language, with so much still to discover in this beautiful language. Throughout my journey in GSoC '24 with the Haiku Project, I had the opportunity to dive into and learn the following concepts:
- Object Oriented Principles
- Scalable Design Patterns and Common Uses in Formulating Solutions
- Open Source Development
Key Projects That I Have Worked On
- Haiku Project: Interface improvements and back-end functionality enhancements for the Haiku OS under the GSoC'24 Coding Period. GitHub
- Steganography Tool: AES decryption module in a custom-built steganography tool. GitHub
- Cryptonite AI: First-place hackathon project at SJEC'24 Mangaluru. It uses machine learning to scan, report, and analyze vulnerabilities from the NVD Database, presenting insights in a clean, efficient web application. Github
What I'm Currently Pursuing and Interested In 🤔
As of now, I’m eager to break into the Web3 and low-level programming sectors. To support this goal, I am participating in more Web3 hackathons and working on a project focused on low-level learning.
- NES Emulator: This ongoing project aims to emulate the entire instruction set of the NES Emulator, enabling the recreation of classic Nintendo games. I’m excited to deepen my understanding of low-level computer architecture, computer graphics, and memory management and allocation concepts. It has been an exhilarating journey! 😊
Previous Hackathons and Other Achievements 😝
- Hack2Future SJEC Mangaluru: Along with my team-mates, I created a website that incorporates an ML pipeline to forecast cyber-attack vectors targeting essential software infrastructure, such as W3 protocols, banking applications, and everyday developer tools. This innovative concept marked my first entry into a hackathon, where it triumphed in the cyber-security category of a national competition, showcasing my commitment to enhancing digital security.
- Google Summer of Code'24 Contributor: I was selected for the prestigious GSoC'24 program during my first year of university, an opportunity that allowed me to contribute C++ code to a significant codebase. I developed a completely new find panel user interface for an operating system that has been in development for over 20 years, continuing the legacy of BeOS. This experience not only involved working with extensive legacy code but also taught me valuable skills in navigating and understanding large codebases, deepening my technical expertise.
