Software Engineer, Expedia

Organisers :) Thanks for again organising HackInOut. Kudos to you for organising this amazing hack. \o/

ABOUT ME:

  1. I am a Software Developer at Expedia Group, a Startup Enthusiast and a hackathon hunter since college days :p. I love hackathons because of the in depth understanding that I get about the theme once I participate in one. The learning curve is great and half of my current projects too are those which i started in a hackathon.
  2. I have participated in around 20 hackathons since last year itself and WON A SPONSORED TRIP TO MANCHESTER UNITED stadium as a part of the United By HCL hackathon last year.
  3. As a part of HACK IN OUT i wish to present my idea on creating a torrent like tech for sharing processing power amongst peers. The main motive though is to learn from the mentors and fellow participants. :)

MY CURRENT ROLE:
In Expedia my team builds products that catch fraud transactions like credit card fraud or Account Take over frauds, out of all the millions of transactions recieved every day. Hence the team name - Risk prevention and Security.
-- Currently working on Project to get all bookings coming to expedia screened for Sanctions to save 340 million USD annually for Expedia

PROJECTS:

  1. An IOT enabled plug for EV charging that would inturn help reduce load on the power grid and let Discoms save lacs on grid management.
  2. I along with my team made a device for the deaf and mute people to bridge the communication gap between them and normal people like us. This device would be attached on their shirts and had a small camera. The deaf and mute person would do the hand sign and the camera would capture it. The machine learning code we burnt into the processor will recognise the handsign and render speech through the speaker module, helping the mute person to speak in a way :)
  3. Created a Mobile Web browser for people suffering from Parkinsons disease which stabilises the web page to counter their shaky hand movements using the inbuilt mobile gyroscope and Web coding, helping them to read from mobile despite their disorder.
4.There are several others which I have explained in the attached resume along with the github repo links and demo youtube videos.
