Yiying Zhu

Hello, I’m Yiying, a designer and maker with a strong interest in bridging digital technology and physical creation. I’m currently based in London, working on a startup focused on AI-powered customized product platforms. My background is in textile, material, and CMF design, and I often use generative tools, digital fabrication, and rapid prototyping to turn ideas into tangible outcomes. Recently, I built a textile repeat-pattern customization platform that helps beginners create professional, production-ready textile designs. I’m also developing a pet customization platform where users can personalize products based on their own pets, with both customization tools and manufacturing provided by us.

I’m particularly interested in how AI and digital tools can support customization, storytelling, and real-world manufacturing workflows. In projects and collaborations, I usually contribute through concept development, visual design, systems thinking, and hands-on making, and I really enjoy close collaboration with developers and engineers.

I’m joining this hackathon to explore new ideas in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, learn from people with different technical backgrounds, and build something meaningful and testable within a short time frame.
