I am an aspiring data scientist with theoretical and empirical interests. As a kid, I have always had more interest towards mathematics mostly because I like to watch cricket and I had a habit of remembering all the players' records and statistics and predicting their future average or strike rate. This love towards mathematics brought me closer to becoming a machine learning enthusiast. This made me pursue Applied Statistics in-depth to better comprehend algorithms of Machine Learning and implement them to provide a solution to real life problems. This love started with me learning the math of the most basic machine learning algorithm i.e. Simple Linear Regression and then implementing it from scratch using numpy and pandas for determining the relationship between how long a student studied vs marks scored by them. And now my goal for the future is to learn the math behind all the algorithms of machine learning models.
My main research interest lies in developing machine learning and large-scale data mining methods to model, understand and improve the functioning of social, information and networked systems. Visualization of data or Exploratory Data Analysis is also always fun to do.My future endeavors would be to implement machine learning and deep learning algorithms into real life projects.
Another domain which I would like to learn and work on is Computer Vision, particularly image processing.Being a brother of three sisters made me their personal photographer and edit their images in post. I always thought if there is a way for a system to edit those images in post,instead of me going through the tedious work. Getting to know the possibility of this made me start learning image processing which I used to make a basic Document Scanner,which would take a picture of a document captured by phone camera and could return a black and whitish cropped image through its edge. I would like to continue my study on image processing and try to implement more practical things in the process.
