Shazmeen Shaikh

Hi, I’m Shazmeen! I’m currently a BE IT student, and I’ve developed a deep passion for Data Science over the last couple of years. My journey into this field started during the e-Yantra IIT Bombay Robotics Competition, where I discovered my love for Machine Learning. Since then, I’ve been learning, experimenting, and building projects that challenge and excite me.

I have a strong foundation in Frontend Development, Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Data Analytics, and I’m also skilled in team management, leadership, and time management—these have helped me stay organized and work well with others on collaborative projects.

One of my favorite projects is CapGenie, a real-time caption generator. It’s designed to make life easier for those who need captions on the fly, such as during live events or for accessibility purposes. I combined OpenAI’s Whisper model with a React-based frontend to create a solution that isn’t just accurate but also seamless for users. The thrill of seeing live audio converted into accurate text and knowing it can genuinely help people was incredibly rewarding. It taught me how to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI and practical, user-friendly design.

Another exciting project is my Emoji Matching Game. It’s not just a fun game but also a deep dive into AI-driven solutions. The idea was simple: given a target emoji, the AI automatically matches it with the correct option out of six choices. To achieve this, I used the VGG-16 model for feature extraction and built an intuitive React-based interface. The real magic? Watching the AI understand the subtle details of each emoji and pick the correct match! This project was a playful way to explore complex AI concepts, and it deepened my understanding of computer vision and user interactivity.

What drives me most is the opportunity to combine creativity and technology to make solutions that are not only innovative but also impactful and efficient. I’m passionate about learning, growing professionally, and taking on challenges that push me to exceed my own expectations.
