I am currently a third-year undergraduate pursuing Bioengineering at MIT school of bioengineering sciences and research Pune. I have a CGPA of 9.22. I am passionate about chess and music, which led me to train in both Hindustani and Carnatic classical music for over 5 years and achieve a FIDE rating in classical chess. As an effort to give back to the society I volunteer at Read A Story where I contribute by writing short stories that help children learn English. My programming skills include JAVA, Python, Arduino, and Raspberry pi. My course works up until now included cell biology, molecular biology, enzymology, basics in electronics, and microbiology. Lab techniques like SDS-PAGE, PCR, and UV spectrophotometer are an essential part of my curriculum. My projects include an Arduino based device for monitoring pH, temperature, and moisture for agricultural use and the isolation of a novel bacteriocin from mangrove bacteria. I have attended the International Workshop on Bio-Design Automation 2020, International Conference in recent trends in Bioengineering 2019 and 2020, and participated in MedHacks 2020 by John Hopkins. Selected for FRUGAL SCIENCE BIOE271 BY PRAKASH LABS, STANFORD UNIVERSITY. I am hardworking, a team player, and passionate about research in Bioengineering. In school, I have attended workshops conducted by the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics. We were taught how to make simple toys out of waste which would help us study simple scientific principles. The idea of being able to learn science using things around you has always fascinated me. Completed Computer Aided Drug Design at RASA LIFE SCIENCES. Completed a 30 days hands on program on the basics of genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics and metagenomic processing, analysis and interpretation at PINE.BIO
