Rock Cheah

Hi, I'm Jing Yik 👋

I'm a Computer Science undergraduate at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) who enjoys turning ideas into working products. I'm especially interested in software development, AI, automation, web applications, and solving real-world problems through technology.

🚀 What I enjoy building

I like working on projects that combine practical problems with technology. Some projects I've worked on include:

• SmartSign-X – An AI-powered Malaysian traffic sign detection system using deep learning and real-time computer vision.
• KongsiBuy Exchange – A platform designed to help MSMEs combine purchasing demand and receive competitive supplier bids.
• Local LLM Chat – A privacy-focused chatbot that runs large language models locally instead of relying entirely on cloud services.
• Student Routine Organizer – A web application for managing exercise, habits, expenses, and personal diary records.

💻 Technologies

Python • Java • C++ • PHP • JavaScript • TypeScript • React • Flask • FastAPI • MySQL • MongoDB • Git • Docker

🏆 Beyond coding

I enjoy hackathons because they push me to learn quickly, work with different people, and turn an idea into something usable within a limited amount of time. I've previously participated in several hackathons and technology competitions, which strengthened my interest in building practical and impactful solutions.

For MUBA Hack, I'm looking forward to meeting new people, exploring new ideas, and building something meaningful together.
