Feng Teing Yee

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). My main interests are computer vision, robotics, machine learning, deep learning, and practical software development.

I enjoy turning ideas into working systems and also exploring areas that I am not familiar with. I am especially interested in projects that combine AI models with user-friendly applications to solve real-world problems.

What Drives Me

I am motivated by continuous learning and the opportunity to use technology to solve meaningful problems. I enjoy experimenting with new AI techniques, improving system performance, and learning how different components can work together as a complete solution.

Balancing my studies, student leadership responsibilities, and part-time work has also taught me to be disciplined, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure.

Projects I've Built

Music Genre Classification System

Developed a music genre classification system using a CNN and LSTM deep learning model to identify genres from audio data.

Number Plate Recognition System

Built a Python-based number plate recognition system using computer vision techniques to detect and process vehicle licence plates.

Face Recognition with Gender Detection

Created a face recognition application with an additional gender detection feature using computer vision.

NLP Chatbot

Developed a chatbot using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in Python.

Travel Recommendation System

Built an interactive travel recommendation system using Python and Streamlit to provide destination suggestions through a user-friendly interface.

Experience and Leadership

I previously worked as a Junior Software Developer at MTL Engineering Sdn Bhd, where I supported backend logic, ladder programming, data processing, and interface development for production tracking.

I also serve as a Secretary for the AI Club and Chess Club at XMUM. In this role, I manage official documentation, meeting agendas, proposals, event coordination, and communication with university officers. This experience has strengthened my leadership, organisation, and teamwork skills.
