I am a freshman at the University at Buffalo majoring in Computer Science. I recently changed my major to CS from Physics after taking an intro to CS course after realizing my motive to make something cool with my own code rather than just learning from a textbook. I believe that computer science has the highest creative potential out of any of the STEM majors.
During my previous hackathon, my team and I created an app called Enterface. This app allows for a COVID-safe environment by promoting mask-wearing. It uses a TensorFlow-enabled camera that recognizes if a person is wearing a mask and grants them entry into the rooms. Our app also updates a map in real-time to show a heatmap of the occupancy of each room in a beautiful and convenient interface.
I am excited to work on another hackathon and make something that's interesting while also learning a lot of new skills and networking with other people
