I consider being hardworking, confident and dedicated towards every work that I do, among some of my qualities that I am proud of.
I started falling in love with computer science in class 12th when I worked on a small group project under guidance of my teacher.We developed a simple software to let the bookshop vendors to keep record of books sold and left in the shop. Since then, I never looked back, cleared JEE Mains and landed into an ALL WOMEN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, IGDTUW and I consider this to be one of best decisions of my life. In first year itself, I became a GOOGLE UDACITY SCHOLAR. I was selected among top 350 students from 10,000 aspirants across India and this achievement instilled in me, a sense of self-confidence and I started working in the field of Web Development using Python(Django) at first and then decided to strengthen my knowledge of Python and Statistics even more to explore the world of Machine Learning.
What drives me? What motivates me to keep working hard?
My desire to encourage women to drive deep in the field of Science and Technology keeps me motivated to work towards empowerment of underpriviledged girls.Keeping this in mind, I applied for the post of Academic Incharge in the society RISE ALL FOUNDATION, IGDTUW. As a core team member of this society my job is to formalise the syllabus to be taught to the children in a Girls's NGO KILKAARI,near Kashmere Gate.We basically focus on teaching subjects related to Maths, Science and also work towards making their command over English Language even stronger so that they feel confident to express themselves in front of larger audience.
What is the most complex project I have worked on?
Recently, I got selected for the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon,in which I have to make a portal which predicts Top 5 colleges in India taking in consideration, parameters like Research work done,Faculty to student ratio, Infrastructure etc. This product requires implementation of various Machine Learning Algorithms and demands high level of accuracy in prediction of top colleges. So, I consider this as the most complex project I have ever worked on, that too from scratch (I am still working on it).
I learnt that if one has the desire to achieve something in life at any cost, then no kind of force can affect that person to sit back and compromise his/her dream in any case.
One cannot learn to swim until left in the pool without any instructor. Similarly, enthusiasts never learn to program until they are left with no choice but to write code from scratch.
