A computer is not like us - it is a projection of a tiny part of ourselves: that portion devoted to logic, order, rule and clarity. My interest in logical thinking and problem solving drove my choice of pursuing a Computer Science major. This field has mind-blowing fundamental concepts such as Turing machines, operating systems, compilers, etc. I have worked on numerous projects throughout my academic career to get equipped with the necessary tools and, most importantly, the trick of learning to learn.
I recently worked with two batchmates to analyse the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on India and the response of the civil society and the government to this pandemic. Mathematical modelling of the epidemic with predictions on fatality rate and under-reporting statistics using the SEIRD-H model has been proposed. Link to report and Github repository.
To better understand the workings of the MySQL Server and connect it with a frontend, I built a basic library database management system with a Flask frontend with schemas related to books and issue transactions. Link to Github repository with snapshots of the website in the README file.
In another endeavour, my team and I wanted to **chart the growth of ML-AI **on a global scale. We applied data science techniques such as principal component analysis and clustering and formulated our findings on a Netlify website. Link to website and Github repository.
For SemEval 2022 Task 4, the aim was to detect patronising and condescending language. With data augmentation and Induction Networks using PyTorch, we attained 83% precision for multi-class classification of subtle toxic language. Link to poster and Github repository.
I also collaborated with my professor and a Google researcher to publish an article on Hidden Markov Models (HMM) at the IEEE VISxAI Workshop 2021. My primary contribution was creating Trellis diagrams and illustrations of the concepts using Latex. Link to the published article.
Due to my interest in web3 technology, I worked on basic Dapps, such as hoisting a lottery where the smart contract controls the funds. I also developed a multi-page crowdfunding Nextjs app that allows users to view various ongoing campaigns and contribute ethers to them. The funds are dispensed only by voting, thus giving more power to the investors. Link to Github repository.
To get the hang of using Reactjs and web3js, I also worked on a decentralised expense tracker application with a Tracker contract to maintain users' transactions, income, and expenses with a frontend for easy user interaction with the application. Link to web-app and Github repository.
I have worked on challenging course assignments such as implementing a compiler for the Chocopy language and solving Capture the Flag (CTF) contests. Having secured the Dean’s List for my previous two semesters with a CPI of 9.58/10 shows my dedication to the coursework at IITGN. I secured an All India Rank 2879 among 1.6 lakh students in the JEE Advanced Examination, a competitive admission test.
Apart from my academic achievements, I was selected for the position of Sponsorship Executive for my college’s cultural fest, Blithchron. We raised around 10 lakh INR in a team of 13 undergraduates and managed to sign the memorandum of understanding with 27 sponsors for the fest, which helped me build teamwork and communication skills. I am incredibly passionate about dancing and am a certified classical Bharatnatyam dancer with the completion of Arangetram, the debut on-stage performance.
Conclusively, I am an evolving computer science student following a logic-driven approach and am curious to learn at every step. I have thoroughly enjoyed working on most of the projects mentioned above and honed my skills. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to try out various domains such as web development, data science, NLP and now blockchains. My fascination with web3 seems to increase monotonically, and I look forward to building revolutionary work on this platform.
Building the future of web3 marketing and analytics!
