I'm Kartik Choudhary a hackathon fueled developer with a proficiency in web application design and engineering.
My choice of hacks revolve around building impactful, human-centric products that can help make the world a better place, even slightly if possible.
When I'm not tinkering with code or pushing pixels, I'm mostly found reading up on interesting stuff built by others, writing, playing video games or thinking of my next big plan to take over the world :)
While I've been building hacks for quite a long time now, my proudest hackathon projects are the ones that I have fond memories of building with friends.
Inspired by Spotify's yearly 'Wrapped', 'Fellowship Wrapped' was built in 5 days at the MLH internal Halfway Hackathon. It won the 'Best Showcase/Portfolio' award out of 6 tracks and 96 participants.
Fellowship Wrapped gives a visual overview of a fellow's performance and contributions made during the Fellowship program. I had an amazing time building it within a diverse team of 4.
Placed 7th out of 150 teams in the national hackathon HackOverFlow 3.0, SmartBin received the proper recognition it deserved after a very close competition.
The idea behind the prototype showcased involved using a TensorFlow library to sort between recyclable and non-recyclable waste chambers, while also logging the item detected that was placed inside the bin. Apart from segregation of waste at the local level, this also allows to map districts and/or sectors of a city that produce "high-quality" or "low-quality" waste.
Led a team of three to build a working prototype in 3 very long days, the most fun I've had in a hackathon.
