John Wooten

John shut down his 100m hedge fund after returning 140.63% (audited) on outside capital to focus on leading the development of a 'blockchain transfer agent,' one of the most important yet inefficient processes in all of public finance.

Logging in from beneath the Dome, John's been mentored under legendary MPC professor Vlad Kolesnikov at Georgia Tech and featured in the Institute's CREATE-X accelerator and (PBS) InVenture Prize.

Prior to Block Transfer, John traded for years across financial markets, taught investing seminars, published a finance bestseller, and (unsuccessfully) launched his first blockchain startup designed to mine XMR in lieu of viewing ads.

At this hackathon, John & co. hope to develop a Web3 interface to integrate with a Vitalik-style ledger using specialized transfer-agent regulatory-reporting and coporate-action features for the full service of public US firms in parallel with Cede & Co (DTCC).

John will be at MIT recruiting blockchain devs until April 7. Let's get coffee—[email protected]
