I am a student currently studying at KJ Somaiya college of engineering. I am in my third year and currently pursuing a degree in computer engineering. I am a python based developer. I am good at solving problems that require the use of algorithms. I am a competitive coder and regularly take part in competitive coding competitions. In the development sector, I do have done projects using python, node.js, React.js, java, etc. I am good at making web apps using python frameworks like Django and flask have worked with several APIs to build interesting projects. I can whip up a REST API in no time using Django and have made few REST APIs. Currently, I am working with javascript and building web projects using frameworks like express.js and making MEAN stack applications. I have worked with several Machine learning algorithms and implemented them using python you kind find them in a repository which I have created(https://github.com/devanshslnk/Machine-learning/). What drives me is the spirit of competition and learning new things in order to achieve a set goal.I have participated in a few hackathons and have been blown away by the focus and determination that is required in order to build a piece of software in a small amount of time. I am motivated by the spirit of learning and hence currently I am trying to learn about new technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence. I have tried to implement in blockchain technologies in couples of hackathons I have been in and have successfully build working decentralized applications. Participating in such hackathons has helped me to develop a team spirit.
One of the complex projects that I have worked on is a fake news detector system. I along with my team implemented a machine learning algorithm in order to detect if the news is the truth or not.
We implemented this using NLP and classifications algorithms in order to give the final result.
I learned a lot of things in this project like web scraping and text analysis using python.I also learned to use several API which helped us to implement this project.We learned how to handle large datasets and choose the most appropriate machine learning algorithm for a particular use case. One other complex project that I worked on used blockchain technology. I along with my team implemented a blockchain to make an e-voting system. This system implemented voting in a decentralized way so that it could overcome some of the disadvantages of the current voting system like a fraud in vote counting and failures of EVM machines. This software used blockchain technology to help the user vote using his public keys and stay completely anonymous at the same time. We generated a private key and public key for each voter using which could vote. The votes were counted automatically and in real-time so there was no chance of not counting votes or tampering with the votes. We used smart contracts to implement this and use solidity and javascript in order to code the back end. Having been to a lot of hackathons I have learned about working in a team and achieve the set goals and working hard for it. It will be great, to be competing with the best developers around the country, get to network with them and at the same time show some of my acquired skill set.
I attended Ethindia 2.0 as a participant and it was one of the best learning experiences for me.
