Rohan Sharma

I am an enthusiast developer who loves to build. I love the process more than the outcome and this is what drives me daily. A pre-final year student currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering at Delhi Technological University (Formerly Delhi College of Engineering), I have a demonstrated history contributing to Open Source. I am proficient in Data Structures, Algorithms and Android development, and I'm currently diving into Backend tech. I am a cloud enthusiast and I help run a local community of students called API which focuses on mobile and cloud technologies.
I am driven by the immense power that tech possesses to change people's lives for the good. It gives me immense happiness and a deep sense of satisfaction when I see my creations making a difference in this world even if it is by doing the tiniest favors possible.

  • Google - Student Developer
    May 2019 - Present

    Google Summer of Code'19@OpenMRS

    ● Developed an Android application in Kotlin from scratch using MVVM architecture pattern and Android Jetpack components. The app allows users to register themselves on the OpenMRS server.
    ● Implemented authentication, handled multiple API calls, added notification support, wrote robust unit tests, added crash-analytics and implemented a simple and easy to use UI/UX.
    ● Learned about Flask and Gunicorn and implemented a reverse proxy for the OpenMRS server especially tailored for our app use-case.
    ● Published the app on the Google Play Store.

  • SportsApp - Android Developer
    October 2018 - November 2018

    ● Added 10 new screens/activities to the app. Single handedly worked on both the frontend and backend of these activities.
    ● The frontend was built using XML following Material Design guidelines and the backend was built using JAVA following the MVP architecture pattern
●Identified and corrected existing memory leaks and suggested best practices.
