I am Bhavya. My parents named me so because they believed that names often get associated with one's aura- "Grand, Splendid, Magnificent and Virtuous". I am ambitious by nature. I have been born and brought-up in Delhi, in a family of engineers and academicians. My inquisitive nature and interest in research is thanks to the environment my family has continued to build around me.
However, some of my inclination towards technology begins with how in school my teachers believed that any glitch in the functioning of the smart-board could only be fixed by a boy, or even how my CS teacher was sure the boys would be able to "manage" coding but she was worried about the girls. Such pre-conceived notions of people showed me that this world still had a long way to go, in terms of fostering equality in the domain of computer science and engineering. From there, i decided to give up my interest in humanities and give in to my parents' wish of pursuing engineering. But now, at least with a point to prove.
As much as I believe in being practical, I understand that to do big we must dream big because all successful people started off by thinking of achieving the impossible. I aim to encourage women to participate in the tech-workforce and become a citable example to them.
I took my first step towards my goal by winning the prestigious MICROSOFT-ALL INDIA-AI FOR GOOD CHALLENGE 2021 and TECCON CHALLENGE (NorthCap University) for making my own MASK IMMUNE FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM. I have recently delved into machine learning and I am a beginner in that field. I have been learning from a course taken by Andrew NG. As a result i have been able to make a few interesting projects like: House Price prediction model for Delhi, Digit classification neural network from scratch, credit card fraud detection system,etc. Apart from my academic inclination, I am known among my family and friends for my social skills, my ability to orate/interact. I am an avid theatre-lover, hardcore
reader, interested in AI research and development and most passionate about
becoming a woman in the sphere of computer science engineering and
technology, leading the way for many others like me. However, I believe that the will to learn and evolve is the most important pre-requisite to make it big in this world of tech and I believe I really do have it in me!
