I am an avid coder and software developer. I am constantly learning outside of my college coursework. I lead well and thus have been the leader of many student projects and hackathon teams.
Currently, I am working on two projects which peruse Machine Learning to different extents. One of them called the VoiceBot is an Android+Raspberry Pi project that is aimed at granting complete autonomy to the visually-challenged. This project consists of an Android app that controls a Raspberry-Pi based robot that acts as a guide for the visually-challenged use. The app is extremely intuitive and built especially for a visually-challenged person.
The other project is called the MentorBot. It is a mobile/web application that uses the DialogFlow API and Node.js to build a personal ChatBot that students can use to interact with and obtain the best learning resources selected in an unbiased manner and also fetches internships based on what the student has learned.
I aim to shift my focus from product-based applications to more research-oriented project work. I was particularly inspired by The Age of AI, a YouTube documentary hosted by the actor who played my tech-inspiration Iron Man. One episode wherein Diabetic Retinopathy, a disease which causes blindness due to high blood pressure and bursting arteries in the eye in diabetic patients, was diagnosed instantaneously using Machine Learning. I remember watching it and thinking "Yes, that's what I want to do."
