Akshaj is an incoming graduate student in Artificial Intelligence at Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently the founder/CEO of Lethical.AI, which is a company focused on propagating ethical ML/AI. He had previously founded Hermez, which was an application to automate checkout in grocery stores. Previously, he was the head of business operations and corporate social responsibility, Chief of Staff, and also a deep learning researcher at Univ.AI. He was also a research assistant to Dr. Pavlos Protopapas at Harvard University. He had conducted research in collaboration with Indiana University, Bloomington to automate medical processes in Ophthalmic Imaging using machine learning algorithms. He had also served short stints Cisco, PwC and several Startups. He is keen on increasing the scope of AI usage across the world, especially for projects focused on societal impact. He is interested in making an impact on the society, which, he believes can be impacted hugely by the new advancements in Artificial Intelligence. He is also a keen supporter of achieving UNSDGs and also runs his own group to act on UNSDGs. He is also a member of MIT Technology Review's Global Panel.
Built an Analytics tool to retrieve network data and issues raised by DNAC, According to this data, categorized which troubleshooter to run. Added a self-learning mechanism (Reinforcement Learning) which allows the tool to learn according to the responses that it receives.
Conducted research in solving differential equations using neural networks under the guidance of Dr. Pavlos Protopapas , IACS, Harvard University
Conducted exploratory research in reinforcement learning under the guidance of the chief scientist, Dr. Rahul Dave. Currently working on multi-agent learning in reinforcement learning and exploratory research on meta-learning and Quantum Machine learning,
Managed and Coordinated several aspects of the company and formed strategies for the company, Led operations of Univ.AI's pilot AI program and formed the foundation of several other programs, including but not limited to campus chapters and distributed research networks.
