• Added a feature to send HTML emails by system admins from the platform, using Markdown as the input format.
Utilised skills: Python, Jinja templating, JavaScript, PostgreSQL. Email coverage achieved - 100%.
• Completed a module for a form/survey system, similar to Google forms but tightly bound to the pgeu-system by writing 2.2k lines of code.
• Contributed to the GRID-SRE team by building a Flask REST API for the fleet management data. This data is collected from 4 sources and comprises information from 41k+ hosts.
• Created a knowledge base of 11 internal resources and determined the flow of data for these resources that involved Azkaban workflows and Hadoop HDFS.
• Spearheaded and operated Python scripts to migrate data in the deployed PostgreSQL databases to the new MongoDB instances. This data corresponds to approximately 6000 users.
• Migrated Neo4j data from an older Kubernetes deployment containing graph data for the 6k users and utilised Kafka to push and pull the data.
• Built a Django API that communicated with another Flask API (running an ML model for text summarisation) and responded to a frontend built with React.js. Brought down the response time of the API to 10s.
• Was instrumental in designing the database of the project. 40k users across ten countries used the application without any issues.
• Developed a GraphQL API using Django-Graphene to account for various backend endpoints. Designed and implemented database models using the Django ORM and PostgreSQL. Achieved a test coverage of over 90%.
• Assembled an asynchronous service using Redis, Graphene and Django channels. Set up Travis CI and Docker containerisation for the project. Shipped the initial MVP in 3 months.
