I am Roman Shrestha. I am an incoming freshman at Vassar College, NY, United States. Since my early age, I have always been fascinated by technology. As I grew up I developed my passion for programming and since then I have been pursuing my passion. I am currently studying AI and Machine learning.
The most important aspect of computer science is problem solving, an essential skill for life. Students study the design, development and analysis of software and hardware used to solve problems in a variety of business, scientific and social contexts. I am interested in understanding and articulating everything via code.
I am driven by questions like: How can we model or represent different problems/domains in terms of concepts, categories, hierarchies, relationships and interfaces? What we trying we achieve? What qualities should our solution have? Can we devise metrics to formally represent our end goals?
Whatever be the domain of the problem, if it involves challenges in formally representing the domain and associated metrics, count me in.
My long term goal is to understand different kinds of intelligence and emotions, model them and make them measurable, eventually leading to some kind of integrative AI system. Further, such a model can be used to better understand individual human brains and their personalities, and help/guide them on a personal level through AI agents.
