Hi, I'm Netra Ghaisas and I'm a final year Computer Engineering student at K J Somaiya College of Engineering. The best way I can describe myself is that I'm an enthusiastic and quick learner with a knack for perfection. My interests include web design and mobile application development, and I aspire to be a full stack developer. I'm passionate about design in all forms, whether its bullet journaling, stalking art Instagram accounts, ideating application architecture or designing UIs.
My previous work experience includes a month long internship at a startup working on mobile applications using Dart, Flutter framework and Android SDK tools. Besides that, I've worked on a faculty data documentation web portal using PHP and Bootstrap framework during an in-house college internship, where I also automated data validation and entry processes using Python scripts. I'm currently working on a chatbot at Morgan Stanley.
Projects:
I've worked with a wide variety of technologies in my projects, which include a personal planner application that I developed using Java Swing, data analysis and graphing in Python Pandas, a society management web app using a PostgreSQL database with PHP and Materialize CSS framework. I've participated in hackathons previously, like KJSCE Hack 2019, where my team won the 'Best All-Girls Team' prize for developing a class notes digitization and analysis web app using ML APIs, and Smart India Hackathon, where my team developed a crop image identification Flutter app and was shortlisted in the top 20 teams from my college. I've developed projects in various domains, from image processing to cryptography. For my final year project, my team is working on a general-purpose flowchart-like cloud visual programming framework tailored for web automation.
Extra-curriculars:
I've completed two extra credit courses through my college - Python for Data Science and Web Programming Basics. Besides that, I've also dabbled a bit in language and story-telling through the Creative Writing and German courses offered by my college.
I've also completed a 'Dart with Flutter' course on O'Reilly and multiple courses on cloud computing and AI on Coursera.
I have an eye for creativity and appreciation for music, and have passed the elementary and intermediate grade drawing exams and 5 levels of Hindustani Classical Music exams with distinction. When I'm not coding, I'm probably composing music on my guitar or binging Netflix.
I believe hackathons are a fun way to learn and implement new technologies quickly in a practical environment, refine your coding skills, and get hands-on experience of collaborating with teammates to build an application that makes a difference. I'm really excited to dip my toes into this new environment and experience the adrenaline rush that goes into coding an application in just 24 hours.
Worked on the organization's mobile app using Flutter framework and Android SDK tools. Major work included using Dart and Flutter to design functional responsive user interfaces for the native app as well as dealing with JSON data and APIs.
Worked on a faculty data documentation web portal. Major work included frontend and backend for adding a mail reminder functionality and database design tuning using HTML5, Bootstrap CSS, PHP and a MySQL database. Also worked on form and website testing along with deployment. Wrote Python scripts for automating data migration from spreadsheets to database.
