Smit Patel

Currently, I am a full-time employee at Cisco Systems India Pvt Ltd, Bangalore as a part of the DNAC-team. I’m an postgraduate IT engineer with a master’s degree with major in CS & DS from IIIT-Bangalore. I am passionate about Data Science, Algorithms, Programming and Development, with strong technical, business, and interpersonal skills for working in a team and successfully completing a project.

I have designed and developed software solutions for several real-life problems since I started my college in 2014, notable some include:
Syntactic Document Comparison using Cognitive learning (Artificial Intelligence & Neuromorphic Computing)
Safe Lane-Changing Mechanism For Automobiles (Image Processing & Machine Learning)
Intellectual Property/Asset Management System (Database Management System & Web Development)
Automatic Semantic Verification and Grading of Textual Answers (Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing).

I have also co-authored a research-paper, which has got accepted for presentation at the 2018 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI 2018), titled "Automatic feature selection for Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2 image co-registration using SURF-FANN" (Remote Sensing & Geographic Information Systems)

I addition to this I have worked as an intern in:
Menza Motors Pvt. Ltd. - Ahmedabad (IOT Programming And Embedded Systems Development) where I designed features for smart gauge clusters of an electric motorcycle, named Lucat, was unveiled at the AutoExpo 2018 priced 2.8 Lacs INR.
Cisco Systems India Pvt. Ltd. - Bangalore (IOT Jasper - Data Science and Software Development) where I developed Jasper Smart Search, a Recommender System for the Jasper Control Center which performs collaborative filtering on user’s previous activities and generates recommendations for an enhanced user experience.

Also, I have participated and won several hackathons in the past such as:
Kandy hackathon - Bangalore (2016), made an on demand virtual attendant for tourists using RaspberryPi as well as Kandy and Google APIs to aid them during their trips in foreign countries
with various facilities.
HACK.BANGALORE by MBRDI (Finalist), implemented a software using Face Detection and Machine
Learning Algorithms to determine the mood of the user based on their facial expressions and provide mood-specific services.
